Welcome to the Tallassee Armory Guards!

This is the official website of the Tallassee Armory Guards SCV Camp #1921. We are located in historic Tallassee, Alabama on the banks of the Tallapoosa River. Tallassee is the home of the only Confederate Armory not destroyed during the War Between the States and where the Tallassee Carbine Rifle was manufactured. The Armory still stands as a National Historic site and is currently under renovation.

The Tallassee Armory Guards also sponsor The Battles for the Armory a Civil War Re-Enactment. Battles for the Armory 2008 will begin on Friday Oct. 31st with our living history school day encampment, and the actual battles taking place on Saturday Nov. 1st and Sunday Nov. 2nd. Visit this site often for official information and updates.

Charge to the Sons of Confederate Veterans:

"To you, Sons of Confederate Veterans, we will commit the vindication of the cause for which we fought. To your strength will be given the defense of the Confederate soldier's good name, the guardianship of his history, the emulation of his virtues, the perpetuation of those principles which he loved and which you love also, and those ideals which made him glorious and which you also cherish.

~~Lt. General Stephen Dill Lee, Commander General, United Confederate Veterans, New Orleans, Louisiana, April 25, 1906.
